Hockey Hall of Fame
On Wednesday, October 2, grade 5 students from Nile Academy's Elementary Division along with their homeroom teacher, Ms. Evie, ventured out on a class field trip to Toronto's Hockey Hall of Fame. The field trip was a tremendous success where fun and amusement were combined with learning and education. The grade 5's engaged in a variety of language arts activities, which required them to use their reading and writing skills. They also participated in various physical activities and had the opportunity to work on their team work skills and enhance their sportsmanship skills. In addition, via this trip, the grade 5's were able to learn more about the importance of hockey to Canadians. The highlights of this trip included marveling and getting up close and personal with the Stanley Cup; taking shots at goalies; being a goalie; viewing hockey's first 3D film; and exploring the largest collection of hockey memorabilia in the world! Overall, it was a great field trip and we look forward to our next one!
